There is something magical that happens when you take color out of a photo. Color photos are loud, and vibrant. They demand your attention by sheer sensory overload. A black and white photo entices you to examine it. It invites you to know it more intimately. There are details in black and white which are impossible to see in color. When you strip away everything but these two colors, there is nothing left but the soul of the photo.
